chambray traveler dress

I’ve been coveting this spotted chambray for months now, ever since I saw this amazing Archer shirt. For some reason or another, every time I went to order yardage it was either out of stock or I had second thoughts about making a button-up shirt. I just so rarely wear them. Then I saw this much cheaper, similar version and thought it might make a great shirtdress – a button-up I’m much more likely to wear.

I’ve made the Traveler Dress a couple of times before. It’s a quick sew except for the bajillion buttons. I’ve only made this view, although I’d like to make the tunic-length version once I lose the extra weight I’m lugging around.

I’m actually quite happy with this fabric and glad I tried it. It’s light weight enough that it’ll carry through spring but it also works well with tights and boots.
